Brightstar padded back down the slope and up onto the great rock. She lay down and sighed half with happiness and half with annoyance. The other clans still hadnt come. Maybe there would be no gathering at all tonight.
But her eyes sparkled with joy at he thought that Rainflowers kits had been born at last. They were fine strong kits too even if one of them had died.
Brightstar had nothing to do that night. She lay dow and decided to wait.

I slowly made my way back to four trees with my new clan mate Tanglestorm. I caught Brightstar's scent as I entered the clearing, but her's was the only one there. "Hello Brightstar." I said in greeting.

I stood beside Shadowstar as she greeted the Windclan leader, Brightstar. I looked around but did not see any other cats. I wondered where they were and how come they were not yet here. I gave a shrug and turned my attention back to the Windclan leader, waiting for her to speak.

"Hello Shadowstar" Brightstar meowed, getting up from her position on the high rock and leaping down, " I see you've brought a clan member with you this time"
Brightstar walked up to the Shadowcla cats and sat down in front of them, "What is your name" She asked the newcomer, with a nod of her head and a twitch of her tail.

"Hello, I'm Tanglestorm." I meowed to Brightstar in a quiet voice. I looked around the small clearing. It was suprisingly big. I had not expected that. I gave a shrug. I guess that it had to be big to fit all of the cats that came.

I waited until Tanglestorm had finished talking. "Yes, Tanglestorm has just joined. How is Rainflower? Has she had her kits?" I asked in a kind voice. "I hope they are ok." I looked at Brightstar and waited for her to reply.

"hello, Tanglestorm" Brightstar nodded to the shadowclan cat.
"Rainflowr is fine" Brightstar meowed, suddenly happy and excited " She had her kits just a while ago. A tom and a she-cat. We've named them Mistkit and Glowkit"
She did not mention the kit that died. She felt it was unnecacary to tell Shadowclan that.
(The October gathering will start in a few days so maybe we should fininsh this one.)

"That is good. Tell her that I said congragulations. Now I think that me and Tanglestorm shall return to camp. The other clans are obviously not coming, so there is no point in staying." I said in a serious voice. I waited for Brightstar to reply.

Brightstar nodded, regretfully.
"Its a shame none of the other clans have shown up" She meowed sadly " But you are right. Its nearly Sunrise. The gathering is over"
She flicked her tail in farewell before turning and padding back towards camp.
"I wonder why no-cat came"She murmered as her paws dragged over crackling leaves and her fur brushed against the spiky bushes, " It must have been important"
